Meet your Celebrity Chef Yves

A Chef, Healer, Guide, Yogi, Surfer and Meditator, Yves was born in Lyon and raised in the regions of Beaujolais, Bresse and Burgundy, steeped in the culinary richness that is France.

A focus on pristine ingredients, the land and the farms where they are grown, have been key to Yves’ journey with food. His childhood experiences of going to farmer’s markets and farms with his father in and around Lyon paved the way for being, as early as the 1980s, an early proponent of foods coming from local, seasonal organic farming.

He went on to study the culinary arts in Grenoble, France and began his career landing a magical job on a yacht cooking for one of the wealthiest families in France. From there, he came to New York, worked aboard private jets cooking for the rich and famous like Farah Fawcett, Cary Grant, Frank Sinatra and Diana Ross among others. Yves also held various Executive Chef positions in New York, most notably at MoMA and the MET Museum. Later in life, he moved to the west coast to become a celebrity private chef to the likes of Jim Carrey and Cher. 

Yves' personal journey with food however was not as glamorous. For years, he used overeating and sugar as ways to numb himself from the high stress constantly present in his very busy life.

As a result, Yves suffered from a leaky gut, digestive issues, inflammation and dealing with deep-rooted addictive eating patterns in his fifties. The unconscious patterns of his earlier years had caught up with Yves, and it had happened despite his considerable knowledge of food and nutrition, his ability to help others with food, and decades of deep personal healing and inner work.

When Yves noticed that the struggles he was experiencing were happening to his clients in their 40s, and even 30s, he went on a search to discover the root causes of the problem. It is when he learned the critical importance of a healthy gut microbiome. He has since set out to help others learn simple ways to break patterns around food and eat a high energy gut health-promoting diet.
